"So far Cycle Aid has distributed 11,000 bicycles across South Africa, giving thousands of children living in the most hard to reach parts the chance to learn."
Wheely Good News

It isn’t an easy journey to KwaNtebeni High School in the KwaZulu Natal region of South Africa. Set in a vast rural area known as the Valley of a Thousand Hills, pupils travel for miles to get to school and back each day.

Many are from very poor families, and gaining an education can be the child’s only chance to change their lives for the better. But until recently they would arrive at school worn out and dirty after hours of walking up, down and through the hills. This meant their concentration levels were low and their learning suffered.

That was until they were given bikes by Cycle Aid, a project run by Education Africa. Having been taught how to ride, service and even protect the bikes from thieves, they now find it much easier to get to classes, arriving on time and ready to learn.

So far Cycle Aid has distributed 11,000 bicycles across South Africa, giving thousands of children living in the most hard to reach parts the chance to learn. It’s ideas like this that will mean that one day every child in every country around the world will get the education they deserve.
